"In The Shipyard"

THIS model of the HMS Victory is being built in the Admiralty Board style.  An Admiralty or Navy  Board model was used during the 1650 to 1780 as a way to present a proposed design.  These models were highly detailed unrigged replicas of a British Warship. reflecting an unplanked hull from the waterline to the keel. The open framing allowed the Navy Board close inspection of the structural integrity of the vessel.  This model will be built at 1:87 scale.

THE HMS Victory (1765) was a 1st rate ship of the line of the Royal Navy.  She carried 104 guns and was best known for it's role in the Battle of Trafalger in 1805

as the flagship of Admiral Horatio Nelson.  At this time if was the largest vessel in the British Royal Navy.

This model is in the early stages of construction showing the hull framing and the beginning of the planking process.
